Sea Pony Bait and Tackle

I've been driving through Winne for 15 years and never seen this place..perhaps maybe because I just started surf fishing. While at Crystal Beach I started talking to a seasoned fisherman and told him how disappointed I was with Harold's Tackle at Crystal Beach. He told me if I ever stopped at the bait and tackle in Winnie. "Winnie has one??? Where?? I've never seen it". He told me so Sunday heading home I looked for it. I be dang Winnie has a bait and tackle store. He was opened so I stopped in. Met the owner..really nice fella. Answered all of my saltwater fishing questions (quite different from bass fishing). After spending close to 45 minutes in there talking to him between NUMEROUS customers I left with a nice Penn reel and rod. He asked if I wanted him to spool it up..asked how much and he told me. I thought "I've spent probably too much already so I'll get some myself ". NOW....don't anyone tell the owner about what follows. Got home and I just knew I probably could have got the reel cheaper elsewhere and I should have waited..so I looked and compared prices. You know what? He was a few dollars cheaper!!! Yes!! Went to Academy and bought my 30 lbs braided line, 300 yards because that's what the reel called for. Academy was 4 dollars cheaper...NOT WORTH MY TIME AND EFFORT. I thought I was going to really come out ahead but didn't. His prices and his character explained why he had so many customers there during my time with him on a Sunday. If you think you're going to find better prices elsewhere DON'T worry looking around. His prices and service is absolutely more than far. So don't tell him!! Next time through with my son I'm going to buy the exact same rig...don't want the price to increase! Added a few pictures after purchasing another rod and reel from here. RICK, is a super nice guy

Definitely a one stop shop peeps. The owner was one of the most friendly and good to get along with shop owners I have yet to run into. The shop had an amazing selection of rods that surpasses most big name places in the country. And has the all the accessories to go with them. And this place also has probably the best bait selection you can think of. So if it's small to big game your looking to get setup for this is your place. We are definitely going to hit this shop as much as we can in the future.

Spent the weekend at crystal beach to fish. Stopped here for bait and tackle, which was fairly priced, with great selections. Friendly staff/Owner. We ended up renting a kayak for $20 a day (extremely fairly priced) so we could paddle our lines out. So glad this place was recommend to us, they are open 7 days a week. We will definitely be coming back every time.
